Did you know...?


John Stamos and his band, "The Bad Boys" played a concert at MHS on November 19, 1982.  At the time, Stamos was famous for his role as "Blackie" on General Hospital. (Source: The Clarion, Vol. 23, No. 5, December 3, 1982)

MHS student Robbie Wagoner built his own nearly exact replica of R2D2 in 1979.  It took him a year and a half and $600 to build the android, which could walk, beep, turn its head and body around and extend an arm from a hatch via remote control. Former MHS student Debbie Poulter worked as an extra, stunt woman and "silent actress" in various TV shows such as "Dallas", "Happy Days", "CHiPs", "Mork and Mindy", and "Fantasy Island".  She once played Scott Baio's girlfriend on an episode of "Happy Days." A group of 6 MHS students walked to San Bernardino and back (50+ miles) on February 14, 1963 in response to President Kennedy's remarks that their generation was physically unfit and "soft."  The walk took them roughly 13 hours during which they ate dried fruit, chocolate bars and sugar cubes (!). MHS held its first Renaissance Faire for seniors on February 22, 1991.  Each senior English class was a "manor" and the manors took part in games and competitions, including a 3-legged races, scavenger hunts, readers' theater and a tug o' war.  A "castle" was erected in front of the auditorium and students dressed in Renaissance costumes.
